East London · Permanent
The opportunity
An excellent win rate and a bonus linked to the gross profit of projects you work on give this opportunity a clear commercial attraction. You’ll join a commercial workplace design and build business with strong momentum, specialising in office interiors.
Based in East London, this permanent Senior Designer role offers the opportunity to bring your established design and build experience to a business that connects workplace design with construction delivery. It is an opportunity for someone with a track record at senior level and a portfolio of high-end work.
What you'll do
You’ll work as a Senior Designer within a specialist office design and build business. The wider service connects workplace consultancy and design with budgeting, project management and construction delivery.
What you'll get
The salary is £90,000–£110,000, with a bonus calculated as a percentage of gross profit on projects you work on. This links the additional reward to the commercial results of the projects you contribute to, rather than offering a guaranteed bonus amount.
You’ll work in London four days a week, with one day working from home. The East London base offers high-quality offices, giving you an office-led working arrangement with a regular home-working day.
The company highlights its culture as a particular strength. Alongside the quality of its offices, this adds to the appeal beyond the financial package.
What you'll need
You’ll need an established senior-level background in design and build, supported by a portfolio that demonstrates experience of high-end work. The essential requirements are:
- At least five years’ experience at senior level within a design and build company.
- High-end projects in your portfolio with values of £1m–£5m.
- A career history showing sustained periods with employers, rather than continual moves.
Your experience should demonstrate both the level at which you have worked and the quality of projects you have contributed to. The portfolio values describe the experience required for this role, rather than a confirmed value range for its future projects.
About the company
This commercial interior design and build business specialises in office workplaces. Its capabilities include workplace consultancy, space planning, interior design and furniture specification, with designs developed from initial concepts through to detailed finishes, 3D visuals and technical drawings.
Its delivery approach brings together agreed upfront budgets, fixed-price contracts and delivery programmes. Dedicated project management is supported by site visits, meetings and financial updates. The business also coordinates landlord approvals and liaison with local authorities, connecting the design process with the practical requirements of construction.
Beyond the physical workspace, its services include change management, office move management and technology integration, covering IT, audiovisual systems and managed services. This breadth allows it to address the requirements of building, occupying and operating an office, rather than treating the interior design as an isolated piece of work.
